VRC Rules
Drivers must join the VRC discord
Drivers must change their Discord name in the VRC to match their name which is used in the WRC Game. This is either their Steam name or their gamer tag.
Drivers must complete the entry list form on the VRC website. Drivers only have to do this once.
Drivers must join the club in-game.
Submitting and contesting results
- Entries must be completed before the event time gets to zero in the in-game club (00 Days 00 Hours 00 Mins 00 Sec) Results are collected at 19:00 UK time on Sunday evenings. Entries recorded after the timer reaches zero may not be counted.
- Steam name gamer tag must stay the same through the season. Changes to steam name or gamer tag will result in a 30 second penalty applied at the next available opportunity.
- You have until the start of the next rally to contest any results or standings discrepancies.
- When the next round starts the results are final.
Notional Times
Notional times - in the event of an epic stage time failing to be recorded drivers can opt to take the following action:
- Accept a notional time.
- Notional times are a set time that is given to drivers in real rallies where they couldn’t complete the stage when it’s not the fault of the driver. For example if the stage is blocked or abandoned. Notional times in VRC will be decided as follows. The results at the end of the rally will be divided evenly into groups for example if there are 100 drivers there will be 10 groups of 10. An average time will be calculated between the 10 times for each group. These average times are the nominal times. Drivers will be issued a nominal time based on their result in their last stage of the rally. For example if the driver finished position 36 out of 100 in the previous stage, they will be issued the nominal time for position 36 in the stage which failed to be recorded.
Important note - drivers should not take the option to restart the stage and take the 30 min penalty. We will remove this penalty and calculate the times manually.
If you have been affected by the Epic Stage bug please complete this form and we will correct your time. The form can be found on discord in the #es-bug-corrections
Notional times do not apply to Pro Series drivers as video evidence will be recorded of stage times.
Pro Series Entries.
Drivers taking part in the pro series will be competing for high value prizes and therefore stricter regulations must be put in place to ensure that everyone taking part is competing fairly.
- Pro series drivers must provide video evidence of their rally. Video evidence may be submitted in the form of a live stream or screen captured and posted to a video sharing site such as YouTube. Links to the livestream or VoD must be posted in the #sro-series-stream channel on Discord
- Pro Series Rallies must be completed in one go and not split up into multiple sessions unless permission has been granted by the competition organisers.
- Drivers in the Pro Series must make their intent to participate known to the organiser (Steve) before the end of Round 1 in the season.
- Pro Series drivers must pick their car before the start of the season and use this car for the remainder of the season. If the driver picks the wrong car in any round of the championship, it’s an instant 20 second penalty.
Course Cutting.
- Course cutting - cutting the course is not permitted. The ruling as to what counts as a course is as follows:
- Cars must not leave the road for longer than 1 second at a time.
- Drivers must not cut corners by deliberately driving through barriers or course limits tape
- Competition organisers will only be monitoring stages where clear and obvious cuts are possible. These are cuts which are blatantly cheating. If you know the cut in Finland, you know what I’m talking about. You can leave the road at a certain point and rejoin cutting about 20s of track. These types of cuts are not acceptable and will be an instant DQ and ban from the community.
- As there are so many competitors it’s impossible to check each stage from each competitor. Therefore I ask that drivers contribute to policing course cuts infringing on points 1a, 1b and 2.
- If you want to protest a course cut simply message me (Steve) directly with video evidence of the cut. I simply won't have time to go and investigate the cut myself so all protests must be accompanied by video evidence.
- Drivers guilty of course cutting will get an instant 10s penalty plus a discretionary penalty based on the severity of the cut.
Prizes
- Prizes will be announced before the start of any season.
- Prizes are not shipped by the organiser (VRC) they come from the supplier directly. Any shipping inquiries must be made to the supplier.
- Prizes will only be shipped once all results have been confirmed and verified.
Championship Entry Criteria.
- Drivers can take any car they like in each round of the championship. The car you take will be the class you score points in for that round. For example, If you take a WRC car in round one you will score in the WRC class. If you then take a WRC2 car in round two you will score points in WRC2 for that round.
- The top 3 drivers from the previous season in WRC class are automatically promoted to the Pro Series
- The Top 3 drivers from the WRC2 Class are automatically promoted to the WRC class in the open championship.
- Drivers under the age of 18 will need consent from a parent or guardian to be able to take part in the Open Championship powered by Motorsport UK
Additional Pro Series Rules
- Drivers must use cockpit cameras at all times during their streamed / recorded run. Dash and seat cam are acceptable. All exterior cameras, including bonnet cam are prohibited.
